At Gulf of America Outfitters, we pride ourselves on offering premier fishing charters along the Gulf Coast, with our base in Venice, Louisiana. Specializing in offshore adventures, we target trophy species like yellowfin tuna, swordfish, and blue marlin. Recently, we've expanded our services to include inshore and bottom fishing trips out of Port Fourchon, Louisiana, where you can experience the thrill of catching redfish, speckled trout, snapper, and grouper. With our experienced captains, personalized trips, and convenient lodging options, we’re dedicated to providing unforgettable fishing experiences for anglers of all levels.
Meet The Team
Captain Joe Von Thron
Joe VT hails from Jacksonville, Florida, where he has built a career running fishing charters for over a decade. With extensive experience spanning from the West Coast to the East Coast, Joe considers the North Central Gulf his home turf. Joe fishing for Gulf of American Fishing charters. During the fall and winter months, you'll find him in Venice, Louisiana, chasing XL yellowfin tuna.
In the summer, Joe shifts his operations to Down the Bayou Charters where he continues to target tuna in the canyons while relishing the diverse bottom fishing opportunities. He skillfully pursues a variety of grouper and other bottom dwellers, showcasing his versatility and deep-seated passion for marine life.
With Joe's wealth of knowledge and dedication to the craft, he ensures each charter is not only a successful fishing trip but also a memorable adventure filled with excitement and camaraderie
Captain Chad Audibert
Capt. Chad Audibert spent his childhood fishing the bayous of Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico with his family. Chad started his offshore fishing career as a deckhand on a charter vessel at the age of 14. Realizing this was his true passion, he was able to pursue his studies in college while maintaining his own charter service Chad successfully graduated with a dual associate degree. After working full-time as an instrument and electrical designer, he went on to pursue his fishing career. Chad has been professionally fishing the Gulf of Mexico for more than 16 years. He is proud to have inherited genetic traits from both his Bahamian Great and Great-Great Grandfathers’ careers as a commercial fisherman from Long Island, Bahamas.
Early in his career, Chad fished Cabo San Lucas, Costa Rica, and most of the Gulf Coast from Port Mansfield, Texas to Destin, Florida which broadened his experience as a captain. Captain Chad now resides in Venice, Louisiana working with Gulf of America Team where he prides himself in taking customers on a fishing experience of a lifetime.
