Everything you need to know about booking a fishing charter with Gulf of America Outfitters, including locations, trip types, and what to expect on the water.
OUR LOCATIONS
Gulf of America Outfitters operates fishing charters from multiple Louisiana ports to match seasonal conditions and fishing opportunities. Each location provides access to different waters, species, and trip styles.
Venice, Louisiana is the primary base of operations for Gulf of America Outfitters and remains one of the most productive fishing destinations in the Gulf. Known as the “Fishing Capital of the World,” Venice provides year-round access to deep offshore waters where anglers target yellowfin tuna, swordfish, wahoo, mahi mahi, snapper, and grouper. Offshore trips run throughout the year, making Venice the backbone of our charter program.
In addition to offshore fishing, Venice also offers productive inshore opportunities in the Mississippi Delta. Anglers can target redfish, speckled trout, black drum, and other marsh species in protected waters. With year-round departures and lodging available at Cypress Cove Marina, Venice offers the most complete fishing experience in our lineup.
Port Fourchon operates as a seasonal departure point from May through September and expands fishing opportunities during peak Gulf months. This location supports inshore, offshore, and bottom fishing trips depending on season and conditions. Anglers fishing from Port Fourchon often target reef and structure species during bottom fishing trips, along with other Gulf species when offshore conditions align.
Running trips from Port Fourchon allows us to position anglers closer to productive waters during the summer season. With waterfront lodging available for groups, this location is well suited for multi-day fishing trips when seasonal patterns are strongest.
Lake Charles serves as a seasonal offshore departure location operating primarily from May through September. Positioned near Calcasieu Lake, this location offers access to productive Gulf waters during peak offshore windows. Trips from Lake Charles include both full-day and overnight options, giving anglers additional flexibility when targeting species based on time of year and conditions.
In addition to fishing access, Lake Charles offers waterfront lodging on Calcasieu Lake, making it a strong option for anglers planning extended trips or traveling with family or groups. This location adds seasonal flexibility while maintaining the same charter standards found across all Gulf of America operations.
